My wife and I have used DJ Financial to both purchase and re-finance homes. We have been extremely pleased with them in general and one of their Senior Mortgage Bankers, Colette Penkal! We were particularly impressed with Colette's professionalism, knowledge and hard work! I recently re-financed my home with Colette Penkal @ DLJ Financial. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and I believe I got a very good deal. There was really no comparison between her and the five or six other lenders that were competing for my business. She was always quick to respond to my questions (I had hundreds of them). The banks these days are tuff to say the least, and I was very glad to have Colette handling the deal. I was always treated professionally and with a great deal of courtesy. Everyone at DLJ seems to uphold this type of great corporate culture.

If you know that your financial situation is delicate, at best, but you wish to refinance your home, then you NEED to contact Colette Penkal at DLJ Financial, Inc. She was unfazed by my household income, high credit card debt, unideal FICO score and a home that did not appraise as high as projected. She optimistically embraced my challenge and put my fears at ease by working hard to get the job done. My previous loan was an FHA, 30 year fixed loan, and I was paying a monthly PMI of $147.00. With the recent surge in home prices, I believed I had enough equity in my property to get a 30 year conventional mortgage so I could reduce my monthly payment overall and get rid of the PMI payment. I reached out to an independent broker that was referred to me by a friend and he gave me a list of reasons why I would not qualify for a refinance, which were for the reasons listed above. But I wanted a second opinion, so I used Lending Tree to find an alternate lender to assist me. The first email I received was from DLJ Financial and Colette was assigned to my case. She was very kind and assured me that there was a refinance solution for my complicated scenario. Even though it felt like there was a hurdle to overcome every step of the way, Colette Penkal and Shelley McKee were able to crunch the numbers every which way and we found a way to make my refinance dreams a reality. I was shocked and elated at the same time!! They were always so responsive to every phone call I made to check in and they held my hand when I was getting discouraged. I am grateful to have found these ladies who did not give up on me and successfully closed my refinance! Now, my monthly mortgage payment is $336.00 less per month, plus I was able to pay off some credit card debt, thanks to having a nice amount of equity in my property. I am so happy for my savings!!! I am happy to be part of smaller bank instead of the massive banks too. This questionable case of mine got big results and I could not be happier with how everything turned out.
